Retard Timing Too Much ?

Okay, so I have a 2.4 L 5 - Cylinder with 20 psi of boost.
I retarded the cam gears by 4*, redline is 6,000 rpm.

Is there such a thing as retarding the timing tooo much ? Or will the computer just compensate ? Or should I just of done it by 2* ?

If you retard the cam timing too much your valves may interfere with your pistons and you will destry your engine, worst case scenario. If your engine is non-interference (which most aren't) your engine may just not run. Otherwise you may just have an engine with an unusable or undesireable powerband. If you don't know how to tune cam gears it's best left to the professionals.

yes you can retard the cam too much .... the advantage of retard with boost is closeing the intake valve latter .... the boost keeps the revertion tendency down .... this gains you high end power at the cost of low end power but the boost makes up for the loss in low end .... the drawback is you are not opening the ex valve as soon and can run into a wall in hp and rpm becouse the ex can no longer get out of the motor ..... as long as you have the valve clearance and the loss of low end power does not hurt off boost driving the 4 degrees you have done should help your peak power a little ......
