Stock spring difference

hey does anyone knows the difference between the front and rear springs in a 4G4D? Im gonna take out my coilovers and put my stock springs back on tomorrow bc of some issues with them (theyre pretty gay). The 2 front upper disk things (dont know the name) are frozen and when I try to move them the whole sleeve part just spins. Plus I dont feel like messing with the camber kit and I dont want to mess up my new tires. But visually are there differences between the front and rear stock springs?

hey can you give me some info on how you painted your car. I like the look and it looks good. Sorry kinda stole the thread

lol its ok. Basically just buy some big trash bags and 1 or 2 rolls of thin masking tape and cover your headlights and take out ur corner lights and bumperlights (theyre easier to take off and put on) then cover your windshield, taillights (or take em off and put trash back on inside of trunk so it wont spray inside), and cover your windows, side mirrors, door hinges, wheels, antenna, and everything else you dont want to get paint on. Then take about 8 cans of flat black spray paint and do light strokes over the whole car. I recommend sanding down the whole car first so the paint has something to stick to (i didnt do this but you should or it will come off easier). And I also recommend Krylon rust tough paint. Duplicolor is alright and I used some of this but Krylon is so much smoother and nicer. And also get some clearcoat if you want it to last longer (something else I didnt do). I just did it bc I was sick of the red which was faded, and plus flat black is just pimp.

yes - there is a visual difference between the front and the rear. (late night, trying to remember what the differences are). One of them has tapered coils, like the top 2 coils are coiled smaller than the rest, something to that effect. I think those are the front ones - but don't quote me. It's been like 2 years since I saw a set of stock springs.

when i took mine off to put on the coilovers i think the backs were longer but i cant remember thats why im asking. I may go to auto zone and ask to see a front one and a back one just to make sure.

alright i found out the difference by taking off my drivers side suspension, the fronts are smaller in diameter. The rears are larger and get smaller toward the top and bottom. The reason my suspension felt wierd is cb i have a blown strut on the front drivers side. I kept bottoming out on speedbumps and all and it kept making a klunking noise. I could push it down by resting my arm on it when i could barely push it down (from what i remember) before.

damn man both front struts are blown. Im taking a break for dinner. It takes like 10 mins to take the suspension off but me and my dad have been talking and ive been comin inside to watch tv so i havnt gotten much done. The rear suspension is even easier so that wont take long. Plus I need new rear tires so I gotta do it anyways. I really dont wanna ruin these new tires or put in my camber kit bc Im lazy so im just putting the stock springs on all the way around.

Damn... and I thought my struts were blown. I bottom out occasionally and it's the worst feeling/sound but it's not clunking or nothing. I just check to make sure my air filter is still attached LoL. Hope you get it straightened out soon...

hehe as it turns out all 4 of my struts are bad. 1 was completely blown and the rest were just so worn out they may as well be blown. I bought 4 new struts today and 2 new tires for the rear. $200 for the struts and $100 for the tires. I just finished putting my rear suspension back together. The only hard part was gettin the bolt back in for the control arms. the rest was easy. Imma go finish the front in a lil bit, im just taking a break.

damn man i forgot to put the upper washer back on for all 4 struts it sucked taking the nut back off with a wrench after realizing it after finishing tightening each one. But anyways I finished the whole thing and I did it all by myself! First actual work i did by myself and without directions. Im proud... But i still have a clunking noise from the front drivers side when i shift hard (when pushing in and letting out clutch) or when i hit a big bump, kinda scary bc i feel it a lil too. But it feels a whole lot better than the coilovers. I hated the bounciness and not being able to drive certain places bc it was too low. God damn speedbumps. I like stock height more. Ill prolly jack it up tomorrow and see if theres anything loose.

Stock height isn't so bad with bodykits and big rims without rubberband tires cuz it has the appearance of being dropped but isn't. For example, side skirts that dip down front and rear like BMW 3-series style or chevy cavalier z-24 ground effects. This boy has an Acura Legend that he likes to run next to me on the way home from work and although he blows out black smoke all the time (I hope he knows about it) and I rev out eventually passing him I had a chance yesterday to look at the sedan's styling while sitting at the redlight. The whole car looked stock but it had a lip and multi-thin-spoked rims at stock height and looks tight! Anyway, congrats on working on your car. I'm gonna do some crap to my ride after T-day when my boy from NJ comes down.
