misfire...

so what do i do if i get my car scanned and it turns out i am misfireing because i think i am...what do i do to fix that?

I think that misfires in any car can be multiple things could be plugs, could be wires, could be coil packs, could even be your alt. this should get you started.

Id say by his nickname he has a 2000 GTP.........What type of mods have you done if any???Id start with plugs and wires.

i have a 2k GTP with a FWI, Dhp 1.0, Dynomax cat-back, 2.5in RT downpipe w/high flow cat, ZZP stage 1 throttle body, and a 3.4 pulley.

i was only asking about the misfire because i was talking to some1 whos friend had a 2000 GTP and had a misfire.

I hear a ticking noise when i accelerate so im thinking its KR and i am getting the car scanned soon...(from what i've heard it shouldn't really have alot of KR with the mods i have but who knows cars r different)

also i have new spark plugs that i gotta install, NGK's i think the one heat range colder ones and i am getting a 160 or 180 degree thermostat soon.

so there r my specs if it helps you guys, i just wanna get my car sounding and running good again

I have a misfire on my 1997 gtp. Changed ignition module, coil packs, plugs, wires, even disconnected the fuel injector to see if idle changed to see if fuel injector was working or not and the idle did change. Now I'm stumped. Damn code P0303. Got spark and fuel, but still a misfire code.

When you put the plugs in, change the wires. And buy a good set.
