Shock opinions?

Hey guys....hate to ask a rehashing question here...but I'm in the process of deciding on new shocks. I'm just trying to guage people's opinions of the Rancho 9000's versus the Bilsteins. What do you run and why? And are you happy with them.

My setup is currently the Rancho AAL's and I'm am going to be adding the AC upper control arms and ball joints (no new torsion bars yet), with TRXUS MT's 31x10.5x15.

Any help/advice you can give me would be great. Thanx in advance.

You need to get the torsion bars first, there is a gap between the new upper control arm and the bumpstop that is critical in order for your truck to get into alignment...the stock t-bars are simply not up to the task of maintaining this height, plus your ride quality is going to be horrible. I run the Ranchos all around but again without the new t-bars up front don't buy them for the front since they ar under damped...in the rear I love the adjustablity. If you go Billsteins all around you need to make sure you buy the longer ones for the rear.

i have the bilsteins all around and love them. longer ones in the rear for the shackle (even though i only have AAL's and not shackles), and 20% stiffer ones in the front with stock torsion bars. the 20% handle the extra weight of the ARB well and i've been told that they are just long enough to run even with the new upper control arms.

Thanx guys for your replies. I finally just went ahead and got the 3" lift package from Todd at EOE. (Sure he's relieved after my bugging him all day.)

So now...how do I talk the wife into that ARB, swing-away-tire-carrier back bumper, winch.......and on and on. Maybe I should hold off for a while. She did allow me to get the TRXUS tires and lift. That ought to hold me until after ECXC. Then the begging will continue.

well, you could trash your old bumpers off road by truly testing your approach and departure angles, this could possibly get you new bumpers. You could also go and get stuck somewhere in the mud and miss one of her special occasions then tell her that if you had a winch you would have been home in time. ;)

Nope...already kinda trashed the bumpers. Stuck in mud? Hmmmm...she might actually enjoy that.;)

Nope...gonna have to go the "sweet" route. I've been married long enuff to know it WILL work. Oh yes...it will work.
