Thinking about a Celica

Hello everyone, I am currently looking at replacing my old falling apart Prelude with a nice shiny new(ish) Celica. Anyone have any information that could help me? I'm currently looking for reliability issues, common problems, and repair costs (I know, they vary by region, but a general estimate is still helpful). I'm looking in the 2001GTS-2003GT range (about 14000). I refuse to buy an automatic, and that's about the only specific I have at the moment, so if there are any chronic problems with the tranny/clutch it'd be good to know. Thanks much for all the help I know I'll get from these great forums.

Yea, the GT-S is nice, and it does have 180hp over the GT's 140. But when you look at the 0-60 times, its not that big of a difference.
The GT will go 0-60 in 7.83 Seconds with a top speed of 123 mph.
The GT-S will go 0-60 in 7.3 Seconds with a top speed of 128 mph.
Of course these numbers are stock. The other negitive thing is the gas milage will decrease with the GT-S version.
Take a look at the 2005 Numbers.
The GT mpg is 27/33 with a manual Tranny.
The GT-S mpg is 23/32 witht he same Tranny.
I dont know guys, is the GT-S really worth the extra money. Is there any extra things you get with it besides more HP that seems to me not to amount to that much....Hmmmm
Anyway, just food for thought.....

the gts is better, resonings behind the 0-60 isnt that mnouch better (i know those #'s arent even right) is because you only really go throough 2 gears and the gts only really has about 140 Hp till the VVTL-i kicks in at abour 6k... the gt has about 125-103 till vvt-i kicks in

Thank you all for the input, and I am now the proud new owner of a 2000 Celica GTS 6spd! Just got it yesterday, and I'm loving it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go for another ride.
