Will RSX seats fit on a 99-00 Civic Hatchback? I need to know ASAP cause a guy at my area wrecked his RSX and i'll probably get his seats for 200 bucks.

I heard something about that RSX seats has airbags on the seats for side impact protection.
If its true, Can i take out the airbags on the seats and leave them empty?
Thanx

I know for most states, well atleast ny ;), If it comes with an air bag, it must always have an airbag......but if you know the right inspection place $20+ will "give" you air bags for that inspection ;)

if the airbags are in the seats and you take the seats out and put them in another car, then you shouldnt have problem taking out the air bags in the seats cause how are they going to know that they are(1)RSX seats and (2) they had airbags in them. I say take them out. dunno if they will fit tho, good luck trying.

Well, where i live they don't inspect the seats LOL, they just put that thing on your muffler to measure the amount of gas and thats it. Anyways my civic came w/o seats airbags from factory so i guess its no big deal for them if i take out the airbags on them.:D

why would you take them out anyway? first they are obviously safer then having nothing there, and two you get an insurance discount for having them.

Well...The civic isnt going to have hookups for the airbags. So even if they are in the seats, they arent going to work in an accident so it really doesnt matter. But I have a feeling they would make the seats look/feel weird if you took them out so leave them in and cap off the wires for the impact of the airbag sensors (if they even have side imnpacts not all RSX have side impacts I am reading in the RSX booklet from the Acura dealer)

Well i don't mind leaving them on cause theyre not going to work anyways but ....Airbags are heavy as hell and i really don't want to add unnecesary weight to my hatch.I want lighter seats for my hatch and if the airbags are not going to work then why have unecesary things and weight on it?
