Nissan petition

Is there anyone out there web page savy enough to start a petition to nissan
requesting that the skyline or silvia be brought to these shores?
How many people here would be willing to drive a right hand drive version if nissan brought it to the us?
I imagine it would save some R and D costs, but for the amount of customers nissan would gain by doing a right hand version would probably justify the cost.
Of course I kinda like the idea of a right hand drive car. I'd love to see the faces of the drive through attendees at the local fast food joint when I'd pull up to the window backwards so they could hand me the food.
Does anyone think the fact that renault now owns a piece of nissan could play a part in bringing the skyline to the US.
After all the new nissans coming out look they've had a bit of a HP raise.

You are bringing up a very good idea here.
I have been thinking of starting something like this for a little while now....
But about something different. It has been confirmed that R35 will be sold to the US, so no worries there ;)
The problem I have is using the XVL concept as the next Skyline.... :( anyone agree?

The xvl is one Butt-ugly car.:bloated:
When I first saw my first skyline it was love at first sight for the r 32-then I went looking on the web-280hp.......4wd....4ws.......I thought that had to be the most incredible ride.
I have a 71 road runner with 350HP big block, a dodge charger with 275HP small block and a 95 mustang gt (for fuel economy-after all the other 2 get less then 10 mpg) and I think the skyline is the only way I'd cross over to the
less then 8 cylinder side.
So for god sakes America (and you too nissan) bring us over some of these cars so maybee more of us "gross pollutors" will have a reason to buy a nice
fuel efficient 6 cylinder:licker:

Yup a petition to NOT use the XVL would be a better idea:D
I do like the XVL (more than the Altima which is also based on that design), but 100% do not think it has the Skyline "spirit" as the Nissan marketing clowns like to put it.
A petion to bring the Silvia (NOT the 240SX) to the US would be cool too. Especially the Varietta convertable version!
What about the Stagea?! With the popularity of wagons, how about driving a wagon based on the Skyline platform. Same engine, 4wd, 4ws, the look on everyones face as you leave them in the dust? OK so you won't see the look on their face since you'll be too far down the road:finger:

Hey D,
I had a 73 Roadrunner with a 340, Bad Ass car, but my wife's dad has the last Hemi Roadrunner ever built. I love the front end of those cars. Way Cool. Mopars Rock.
Yes, I too woukd like the fuel economy of a six cylinder:smoker2:

Not sure where, I think I saw a petition for that. I have to check to see where. If I find it, I'll pop it in here.

I would love to see the Skyline GTR in this country. By the way, has anyone heard of this. The SKyline GTR's engine inside the Infiniti G35?
Is this possible?

A fight for a different GT-R or at least the Skyline name to appear on the GT-R or possibly even to have the new G35 badged an Infiniti but remain named the Skyline would work more than a petition to bring over anything R-32/33/34.
Now the Silvia and Stagea might work because we already know the Silvia can be done, and the Stagea would be a definite ass hauler. However, I dont think that either of the three would carry enough weight and they would just want to sell them all as Infiniti's anyhow.

I have a thought, wouldn't it be cool if nissan was willing to bring the R32,R33,and R34 GT-R's here as a special edition line of cars. They could do something in conjuction with NISMO comming to the U.S. They would obviously have to redesign the RB26DETT so the turbos are on the opposite side of the engine and whatever else they need to switch to make it a left side driving car. They could sell the R32 GTR for 1 year, then the R33 the next year, and finally the R34 or just sell all the models at one time. Either way, I know they would sell every last one they produced. Just an idea, probably never will happen. I just think the U.S. has been deprived so much to miss out on such legendary cars.:(

I would love to see Nissan N. America do something like that. Unfortunately, since Nissan Exec. are chicken, they fear what would happen if the carwas here. I personally think passing Inspections for this car would be a breeze, since the Lancer Evo VII is here and is ready to pass inspection. This car should be no different. By the way you can get the car over here; you just need to go through Motorex, so we aren't exactly deprived. BUt I would love to see an affordable price like Europe and Asia has, equivalent 40 to 50k.

actually, i'm not so sure about the motorex sitaution. i'm in japan right now and am trying to find a way to send my r 32 back with me when i come home. i called a place called eurotec motors in dallas texas and the owner said he could import my car for me. nothing to do with motorex. he said it would cost me but motorex wants what, $16,000 just to ship and convert. just because everyone says motorex is the one look around for yourself and see what you can find elsewhere. i'll let yal know if this pans out and hopefully i can save me and a lot of others a lot of money to bring this beauty to our shores.
p.s. nissan is selfish

as far as I know, Skylines are sold in the US by Motorex. If you want to buy one new, they are the ones to visit. there should be other dealers who do this too. In your situation, I believe the dealer, as an individual, is shipping your already paid for R32, but Motorex is the one that did the testing of skylines in the US. Their webpage is http://www.skylineGTR.com. The site will ask for flash media stuff, with is kind of nice to listen to, "the engine". By the way, shop with a couple of other import shippers, besides your dealer. I paid 10kUS for my shipping, but the one that I use is for F1 cars mainly. They might not want to deal with the general public, and chances are you may have to wait a while for the shipment, since they send cars in bulk.
