todays looks arent that great

Whats up with sportscars looks these days? Dont get me wrong i love the WRX and the EVO my boys have them and their fast as hell. But are they under the sport car category? All they look like to me is a fast 4 door sedan. Thats another reason i love our cars so much because it looks so agressive and mean. It stands for something. And any other car out there that you want to look as good as ours you mine as well put down $200,000 for it. Just me or anyone else think todays fast cars should look fast?

Yea todays Japanese fast cars don't look fast like the 90's supercars, they're just econoboxes with AWD and a turbo slaped on them. I'm all for the clasic low long and wide proportions, like a vette.

I agree with ya there...i'm always thinking if I want to buy another sports car and get rid of my 3S, what would it be? And the only thing that looks remotely good for new sports cars is the 350Z...everything nowadays looks too plain...Nissan has some good designs though allaround...Hope the 3S makes a comeback sometime...but I think the next step for me in sports cars will be a 93+ Supra. They're comfy!

there are some well performing cars out there, but the only car i really want is the vr4, and that's mainly to do with the way it looks!

well the EVO and th STI are not categorized as sport cars, they are Sport compacts. but lets not digress, I like some of the sport car looks out there. I think the 350Z, the new Vette and the new Mustang (all categorized as "Sport Cars") look awfull, I hate the new Vette, hate the new Stang and the 350Z looks like a fat ass cow. I do however like the RX-8 which is odd since its barely got the performance worthy of sport car category......still I like it, its absolutely the most extreme, concept looking thing on the road. I love the G35 (two door not that nasty ass 4-door sedan crap) the GTO is another sport car I like but the body needs more work, still if I could afford a new Sport car itd be a G35. its sad that the sport compact can out perform a sport car! what ever happened to the days of rx-7, supra mkIV, NSX , 300zx and 3000GTs?

why make 2 door sports cars that only seat 2 confortably and are big and long when we can build 4 door sedan boxes so the whole family can go for a ride.....cause ya know i am gonna take my family with me street racing!! how about u..... even better why build sleek when u build sleep....cept for the big front mount intercoolers and big a@@ spoilers....sorry i'll stick with my 3kgt

I dont see why you cant have both, speed and looks, as for girls......thay want everything man. they want the looks, the power, the luxury, the safety, the speed. Sports cars should go back to being what htey used to be a supercar just one step down from the "supercar" class and no matter how much turbo or awd you throw into a econobox a sport car should always out manuever it and out run it. as far as looks go, as far as looks go every so called "sportscar" has to be an absolute panty-droper and we gotta stop taking cues from the DTM styling of "box-looking" cars with good aero, a sport car should be low, wide and sleek with tons of dangerous looking curves. I like a car that follows Jessie James' idea of design. "every piece should look like you could gut someone with it" and hell yeah keep, keep em 2 doors (nothing wrong with the family man) but a sports man only care about himselve and his woman, let the rest take the bus!

LOL, there's the BOOOYAH!!! awesome, umm yea, the only sports cars I like these days are.... none!!! Weel except maybe the viper, but I like the older vipers sooo much better, I'm the biggest muscle car fan though (the 60s/70s era), and to Kev3000GT... dude just do what I did, Get a 70 charger (actually I "borrowed" my dads :-D) and the girls' won't be able to contain themselfs when they hear that kitten purrrrrr!

Sounds like you guys have some trouble with gettin the girls, i could pull any girl w/ any car...even I'm amazed w/ the girls that i've gotten in little shitboxes, and now that im in the 3S, it's ridiculous, soccer mom's are interested now lol...but anyway musashi the 350z and the G35 look almost identical to me (the only reason i didnt mention the G35), how come u dont like the 350z, besides the fat ass cow thing which btw i happen to like fat ass's on my cars, among other things.

While i was searching for a car to buy (as my first car) my dad gave me a price limit and i set out on autotrader.com. i had always loved 3000gt's but never really thought i would have the slightest chance of getting one so i searched them up and there weren't any in the area worth buying. While trying to think of a possible new sports car to buy(pretty much actually just good looking) the only things that came to mind were the rsx. I also considered a 97-99 eclipse(really liked the body style) but after test driving realize that without it being and overpriced gs-t or gsx you were pretty much driving a real bad honda civic. Therefore i was quite confused i considered a couple other older cars like the firebird or camaro, but have you seen the interiors on those. I took a crap once and it looked better than those. I was pretty bummed out and figured that i was pretty much gunna be driving an ok car that wasn't my favorite or anything like that. My dad even tried me to look at the mazda 3's (not hatchback) that still looked extremely bloated. Though i will give them credit on interior. Then i went home and searched auto trader again. WHAT!?!?! A bright red 98 3000gt sl with only 55k for around 15k. Wow i was excited, we went to the carmax that day and took it for a test drive and i already knew i had to get this car. My dad fell in love with it too. Then we called the insurance company before actually buying and were pretty suprised lol 360$$ a month to insure me on that car. Good thing we have a pretty pimp insurance agent(unfortunately no relation to gateway lol) and she got it down to around 200 a month. The next day i was following my dad home (driving his lexus gs300) cus he was afraid i couldnt drive it properly yet(you know how parents are) and i was freaking out. I lucked out. Pretty much what i was trying to say before i got carried away is that there aren't really any good looking sports cars on the market for a reasonable price for a teenager to drive. Luckily my dad realized this too and was pretty leinent with his desicion. HAHA by the way 2 years ago my sister got a brand new olsmobile Alero...lol good thing shes cool and was happy for me. well dont get me wrong dude, I like the 350z but just cant stand its stock looks! I fell inlove with that car when it was still a concept, then a few things changed (I liked the concept exhaust alot) and it got more docile, then every one and thier mother went out and bought one, now I see as many 350Z's as I do Civics on a daily basis. I saw 4 just driving to work today and 2 on my lunch break! that seriously kills it for me, as far as the G35 goes, well here is where I get kinda fruity cause I pay tons of attention to detail and its the small stuff that really catches my attention. I love the shape of the rear lights on the G35, It a bit longer then the 350Z and the front facia just looks more open and agressive, the 350 has a tiny box shaped opening in the front that I really find too simple and ugly. yeah they look like the same car but I just love the refined looks on t G35........no thorw a body kit on the 350 and now where talking, I dont care which, any body looks better then the stock one.

Ahh see I don't ever see them around here, maybe like once a month...so i've never really looked at them enough to notice the small things. The G35 i see everyday here though, but I think it's the hottest car out right now (sub $40K). There's this one here, its candy Blue, dark tint, like 20" five star rims, its sick...and the guy had it like that when they first came out before i knew about them, so when i first saw it, i was like holy sh*T! That's the kind of impression I want to make on people in a car.

lol some good posts on this thread and yea Musashi same here i like the 350z alot when i first saw them but now i see them everywhere and they do have a big ass on them doesnt look to great to me. But i do get excited whenever i see another GT. And the thing that amazes me i could get a car that looked like that for under 4k while other kids are payin over 10k for their civics and tegs.

(damn my sig is big everytime i resize it it stays big...need to work on that)
