Okay, if I don't sell my car.
Can anyone point me to some stock low cost injectors?
I've gotten one replaced by a local shop but I don't want to spend anymore money with those guys. Plus I had to get them to do a starter that cracked on me with this injector issue.
Heck, couldn't get the starter out by myself. Stupid LT1s.
But ya, just point me to some good injectors please! I'm not running anything special in the engine, just stock stuff.
Pretty car, hate to get rid of it...but I just might.
Oh ya, plus how much should I sell mine? Bwhaa haa!! Tell me!
1996 Trans Am LT1 57,200 miles
Black/Graphite Leather
Auto
rebuilt tranny
new starter
new opti
new waterpump
new plugs and wires
new rear brakes (should have gotten the slotted rotors but didn't have time or money at time)
(forgot) new alternator, didn't need because I thought it was going out...
Interior looks awesome! Besides the auto stick.
Exterior looks good, but spoiler looking bad from clear coat loss, some scratchs from a tree that almost landed on the car too.
As you can see...I've done a lot of repairs and I'm tired of it. Plus, maybe that tree almost falling on it was an omen that I should get rid of it.
So, lets talk about what the next vehicle should be...

Dude, awesome! I haven't found a set of 8 injectors for that low of a price anywhere!
Thanks ever so much! I'm buying them right away. They shouldn't make any loud clicking sounds should they? Its only like 3 pounds more than stock...I think.

Okay...I just ordered the injectors at SLP Performance. You can't beat $100.00 for a set of 8!
The guy was talking about e-clips? He said I need to buy some e-clips to hold them in? What in the world? How am I going to hold them in with e-clips? What about those clips that are on the fuel rails? Those won't work? Hmmm...I'm totally confused...why is there always something?!
Can you help with some info?

You should be able to pick up e clips at any local auto parts store. Your current injectors uses clips as well to hold the injector to the rail, its that metal clip thats snapped onto the rail and then slides inside the groove on the injector. Its not a big deal plenty of people even run there cars with no clip because the rail is bolted down and the injector body is too big to come out of the intake with the rail in place it will not fall out anyway. Its nothing to worry about but if you find them buy them. And no they don't click any louder than stock injectors

I know its only a 1 pound difference but, are the 25 injectors going to make my car run rich? Burn more fuel?
I'm not really running any mods right now so I don't want it running too crazy like. The only thing I'm worried about is getting new shocks and struts along with slotted brakes and subframes.
The HP will have to come later. :grinyes:
edit: Oh, and if I find those e-clips...where do I connect them? Do they just clip on the injector around the base? Or are they suppose to be attached to something? Kinda confusing...never did injectors yet.
After replacing plugs and wires in that car...I feel like I can do anything!

Your injector's are pulsed by the PCM to create a certain air/fuel mixture. The computer adjustes the pulse based on info it recieves from your oxygen sensors and with use this info to either lessen or add fuel. So no the injector's being 1 pound higher will not effect the operation of your vehicle what so ever but you should also know there is not a one pound difference between the 2 anyway. The stock injectors are called 24 Lbs but there actual flow rate is 24.9 pounds per hour. So there is only a .1 difference and like I said in my last post the clips snap onto the fuel rail and slide into a groove on the injector. Its a very easy install. It will be a piece of cake compared to changing the plugs.

Also...
I did the injectors and it wasn't too bad. Sliced my index finger on the rail though. Ouchie.
Okay, so now the engine seems to be running better, but not excellent.
There is still a slight flutter...barely there...if it wasn't for me driving the car everyday I wouldn't be able to tell.
And also it doesn't want to crank up like it use to, with one turn over. Sucks.
Do you have anymore ideas what it could be?
I've done the plugs, wires, injectors, the distributor was done a while ago, starter was changed out with a new one. New air filter, new water pump. Man, can't think of anything else right now.
Also, now I'm hearing a low roar in the back right wheel, maybe its the brakes or tire...just started after I installed injectors. Or could it be something with the fuel back there? *sigh*
Its a 96 Trans Am with no mods on it. Just running stock until I can sort out the issues with my transmission and get by my girlfriends birthday and Christmas! And girlfriend's nagging :disappoin about me spending too much money on my car instead of her. Hmm...might be time for her to go!

I agree if its between her or the car kick her non-Trans Am loving ass to curb, unless she is super hot in which case just deal with it. Have you had your computer scanned yet to see what codes might be stored?

Ya, check and no trouble codes. But I know that something is there.
Before I got the #4 injector changed, it was random misfires. But that is resolved.
