yea i have a friend who runs a 10.8 in a 02 four door dodge in the 1/8th. he forgot to turn the ac off one time and ran a 11.8

It doesn't matter most of the time, anyways, with modern cars. Most modern A/C units are designed to cut-off at WOT - including the LT1 Z28's.

they did a test on the EVO in EvolutionM.net and somebody was dynoing his EVO and for the hell of it he decided to see how much power it would lose with the A/C on, the car lost 18whp. so that is definitly a noticible drop in power. if you drive my friends EVO in the day time with the a/c on, the car doesnt' really want to pull up top. so we would never race anyone fast on the street if the a/c was on. 2001LS1Z28 probrably would know what i'm talkin about.

Yeah, but the AC should turn off by itself at WOT, especially newer cars like the EVO.

Although a slipping clutch is obviously a big deal, (turned my buddies 13.8 sec 5.0gt into a 15.8 car) he was pullin' all of that shit out of his ass because he was butt hurt that an import beat him...soundly at that.

And a grand for a new clutch??? Please...just buy a high performance set and do it yourself. If you can't fix the car you race then you probably shouldnt race it.
