crazy car

hello i have a problem with my 1994 cavalier rs. the engine stalls like many of the other posts i've read but i can turn the switch off and then back on and sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't. when it will start i can hear the fuel pump running and i have the usual start up dash lights ( check engine, abs, oil, etc) but when it won't start i don't have any dash lights nor does the fuel pump work and i can hear the power door locks clicking and sometimes see them moving as if they are trying to lock or unlock. i tightened the negative battery cable after i found that it wansn't as tight as it should be. and i have put in another ecm. if anyone has information on what has possessed my cavy please help. it would be most appreciated

Check all your wires, on the alt, starter and anything else you can think of. I had the same kind of prob starting my 99, turned out to be a loose nut on the starter.

the power door locks on my '93 behave just like yours: when I hit the switch, I hear a bunch of clicking, but nothing else happens. A buddy of mine says the rod inside the door is off track, and may be from when I had locked myself out of the car and had to get the door unlocked professionally. Let me know if you have had any success in getting your door locks fixed, because I haven't been able to get to mine yet.
