03' GT Questions...

1. I left the ignition on for about 6 hours and got pretty close to a full cycle on my delco battery, and after that the little green ball in the hydrometer is gone! I drove around for about an hour(with no stereo or lights) to get the charge back up but the little green ball is still gone! I feel bad without my green ball, does it always disappear when you xycle the battery? if I manually charge it would it help? I've upgraded all the power wiring to 4ga for use with a high draw stereo. which brings me to question 2...

2. The stock charging wire(that runs between the alternator and the engine power center): On some newer cars it has a little sensor somewhere on it that tells the car how much current is running through it, I really don't want to trace a dirty alternator wire down the engine so does anyone know if this wire is necessary to the charging of the battery or can I pull it completely out and just use the 4ga wire I ran?

3. whenever my powerdoorlocks hit, the lights dim. This is very annoying. Do all GM cars do this? my buick regal did too but its 14 years old...

4. How hard is it to upgrade the stock alternator to a high amperage aftermarket DIY? how much does this run?

CHEERS!!!!

Before jumping the gun, maybe your Battery was on it's last legs!, I would suggest having the battery load tested, it could be as simple as just buying a new battery, Maybe one with a little more CCA!

Good Luck
