is it common for brake rotors to always look rusted, i notice they always rust quickly then i drive around the block and they are nice and shiney and hot. Then they are rusted again next morning. They are stock rotors i was wondering this because i was to get dubs soon and paint my calipers and get some drilled and slotted rotors. but i don't think i want those if they will look rusted all the time. Is it just the type of material the rotors are made out of and the aftermarket drilled/slotted rotors will look nicer or will they always look rusted? I do live by the beach so thats one of my concerns but my neighbor has some nice rims that you can see the rotors and they never look rusted.

That's typical of the factory rotors. I've got a set of Brembo drilled/slotted rotors that have a zinc plating to help prevent rust in the crevices, but it doesn't do anything on the swept surface. Nevertheless, I don't seem to have nearly as much (if any) surface rust on the swept area compared to stock.
Stay away from the cheap drilled rotors. I've had a nightmare issue with some of them from eBay.
