I recently bought a new car, and am moving my sterio over. I can not however remove the factory deck to hook up the remote power wire to my amp. I have the tools to remove the factory sterio, it just won't budge. Given this, is there anything else that i can hook the remote wire up to. I thought about the cig lighter, but most of the wires are taped up solid underneath the dashboard and hard to access...

Any ideas?

you'll have to find something that's switched with the ignition....cig lighter, something in the fuse box, etc

Or you could find a constant power source, and stick a switch on it. But you'd hafta turn it on and off when you get in and leave the car.

The cigarette lighter is a good option, in my car it turns off when the car turns off. The problem though is access to the wires. In the car, all the wires are taped together with electrical wire and them fascened to the underside of the dashboard. they are just very secure, and hard to get to. I'd rather not cut down a whole group of wires, and i tried to follow the wires to find a spot where they wer more accessable, but had no luck with that...

My freind once had his deck switched wire (red) not only hooked to the accessory to his ignition, but also to his parking lights, so when he'd turn the parking lights on, the deck would turn on, not a bad idea. just a thought...
