okay about a week ago i finally got my 93 del sol back. it now has a jdm b16 sir in it..one problem..the thing doesn't run great..i mean come on..my check engine light comes on after the car is warm, and i have drove it about a mile. on top of that there is a loud noise comming from somewhere behind the motor..it is a ticking sound. when i accelerate to about 3grand and higher it just gets louder, and it sounds like a clunker. i just replaced my o2 sensor tonight, and it didn't fix the check engine light problem. i'm wondering if maybe the rear motor mount could be loose, or maybe even loose from the transmission..and i can't quite explain why my check engine light keeps comming on. i just had a new header and cat put on, my exhaust runs 2.5 all the way back, so can someone please tell me what the heck could be goin on. oh i wired into my ecu to try to get it to to throw me a code, but it won't ..

this is just a suggestion but if you have an autozone around they can hook up to your computer in your car and run a diag on it to see what is causing the check engine light to come on (for free) dunno about sounds though... hopefully its nothing that cant be easily fixed.

ok i tapped into the ecu and found that my knock sensor was unplugged...well actually my mechanic never wired it in. so i did that, no more check engine light! i'm beginning to think the rattling is from my exhaust. i had to have a hi flow cat welded to my header and exhaust. maybe the weld has some open places in it.

heatshield on the cat may be loose and rattleing, even though its not factory this is a common problem on all cats.
