Wow how does a leak cost $1000? You could try getting some lightly used struts off of 3SI from a part out or 3SX sells them for $359.95, and I don't think it'll cost $1450 to install the strusts. Are those estimates from a dealer or what?

Struts, I would go 3sx, or get some coil overs while your swapping them.
If your turbos are leaking oil it will be into the intake and you would never see it, so if you are getting oil on the ground it is not your turbos going bad.

i cant wait for my 9b's to blow again, beleive me young vr4 its worth thinking about upgrading those babies as a set of 13g's or 15g's wont be much more and you can always regulate the boost with your controller until you can afford the extra ancilleries to let those babies breath. i made a big mistake by rebuilding mine, although i did it myself and it didn't cost that much im severely regretting spending the cash on them rather than putting it to some better turbos.

Yea I think you should get a second opinion on all of that, sounds like that shop was trying to gouge you. If it was your turbos leaking then as stated it would go into your intake and you'd just burn it up (while guming up everything in between), you could just get/make a catch tank to solve that real simply. Hopefully the oil is nothing serious though, good luck on geting it all fixed up.

well first i would suggest if u have to get new struts and such u should check out tein....because if u have to get new ones u might as well just go all out and get nice ones that will help your rides performance.....also if u do decide to get strust from tein they come with the instructions on how to install them...thats just my 2 cents...

I DO understand, I took my car to the shop to get an alignment and found out it was the control arm, I got the control arm after a week, took it back, found out the K frame was screwed, left it at the shop for 2 weeks til it got in, and got $900 lifted out of my pocket. Let's get a beer and talk about it, lol

i'm just thinking that either i can spend 2-3 grand on some stronger turbs or save that money to rebuild the engine if the case comes.

Its never a bad idea to save up money. However, saving specifically for something that could never occur is questionable. If you intend to spend the money on the car, getting the better turbos would be the way to go.
