Gday bro.
First what type of filter do you have? Is it a cone filter or panel? Is it actually a CAI? After you've made up those answers you can think about heaps of possibilities. Obvious ones include exhaust, headers, timing, spark plugs and leads. More expensive items include cams, head work, compression, a new computer and to finish a light weight flywheel.
Overwhelled yet. Pretty much I can say that (from experience) it all comes down to how much you want to spend!!!!
The first cheap solution is timing, past that have wallet ready! Remember research is basically free as is most advice. YOU CANNOT DO TO MUCH ASKING!!!!! There are plenty of resources available, use them!
Hope this helps rather than confuses:D . Power to the P10.

Peter @ Prestige Automotive (http://www.prestigeautomotive.co.nz) is probably the best guy to go to if you are in new zealand. He knows exactly where every single hp locates in the SR20. Unlike other workshop that only sell bolt-ons, they actually have in-house engineers that research and development accessories for most Nissan vehicles. He obtained over 200hp from his Primera Touring engine without touching the compression ratio, throttle bodies and cam lifts (and those are where the real power comes from a NA engine!!) Yet he is not expensive, especially when compare to the States :p
From "bolt-on" to head work, compression; he knows it all.
He is one of the main sponsors of NZPCC too.

Send him an email, he is happy to tell you anything you want to know about SR20s.

might want to look into a 91 P10 intake cam, has been proven to give gains.

For heat stoppage I have a molded picece of this shinny metal shit a mate hooked me up with sitting about an inch below the pipe (ie in between the pipe and the engine but no right on the pipe) and I have warped the pipe in heat wrap!!! I will take a foto of it when I get sum film for my camera then ill have to scan it im too cheap to buy a real camera :p
