A/C Compressor repair

Before I bought my '97 A4 2.8, it appears that the hydraulic cooling hose was bent into and touching the a/c compressor. over time they rubbed holes in each other and i already replaced the cooling hose, but not the compressor. I can see exactly where the hole is and where the freon leaked out. Can this be repaired/patched instead of replaced? Has anyone had success doing that? Thanks, TC.
