Did I Do Damage from driving with the timing off

I had my Timing belt replaced on my Teg and the dumbass mechanic didnt put it on properly.. i was driving around for a few days with the timing belt not on properly... the car was running really sluggish... i took it back to the shop and they said they had to do the timing belt job over again cause it was off by a couple teeth... after they did it over i got it back and now it runs good now but i am afraid their might have been damage done like some valves could have been bent or something.. Is there a way i could know if any damage was done or the only way i could find out is opening up the engine and taking the engine head off and checking the valves that way?

You can do a compression test and if it is low then you can do a leak down test and listen and see if you hear air going into the exhaust manifold, intake manifold or crankcase. If it is going into the exhaust manifold then you have a (or more than one) bent exhaust valve, if it is going into the intake manifold then it is bent intake valves, if it is going into the crankcase then it is the rings which will not be affected by the timing belt position.

How much will a compression test cost, where can i get one done

well i'd complain to the damn shop and have them do it for me
and IF anything's damaged i'd have them fix it because it WAS their fault for not putting the timming belt on properly

Piston to valve contact is the only real damage that can come from the timing belt being off.

ok thanx.. is there a way i can see if there was piston to valve contact without having to take off the engine head or is that the only way to check that out

Trust me you would have heard your valves hitting. I doubt you have any permenant damage if it was off by a few teeth. It would be like advancing or retarding both of your cams a couple of degrees. It makes a DISTINCT sound when valves contact the pistons, you would have been like OMG WTF?!@#!@!@#

I did hear a wierd noise, it sounded like a fart, you know when u force out one of those short quick ones.. well i heard that

hahaha...well you would hear it from then on, if it's running fine, no knocking or really loud ticking, then you probably didn't do anything....take off your valve cover and look in there for bent valve w/ a flashlight to be sure.
