Fuel Gauge Problem

I was the dealership and had the fuel tank and some lines replaced but when I got my 97 gp back the fuel gauge went up to full and moved around abit then stayed at full. I took it back and they looked at the wiring and the sensor and said everything seems fine and the problem might be in the cluster. Does this seem to be right? Personally i think its the sensor but I cant see it being the cluster. What do u guys think?

I'm experiencing the same problem on my 2000 GT. I took it to a local Goodyear and they said that it could be the instrument package and/or the sender unit. I'm not exacly sure where the sender unit is or how difficult it is to change. Anyone have any suggestions?

No not yet, I think i might find an instrument cluster from the junk yard and see if its the cluster or not. If not then ill take it back to the dealer and recheck the sender and sensor.

If its gone full the sender is gone open in the tank. or the wire is open to the guage. But this is a common gm problem the wiper on the sending unit wears and causes full tank.

I took it back to the dealership again and the said it was the cluster again so I did buy a used instrument cluster and it did fix the problem.
