engine not running right

Hi, new to forum and am having some troublesome probs. I just rebuild my 97 tahoe 5.7 w/ comp cam 205/210 @ .50, new timing chain, heads port/polish ss valves, etc. After putting all back together im getting two SES codes:
P0108 - MAP / BARO - Circuit High Input
P1345 - CKP / CMP - Correlation

so I replaced both the MAP and the crank sensor and it still throws codes. It idles very rough and spits and sputters when she decides to run.

Anyone have any ideas? And, what is the proper way to time this thing? I never timed an electronic controled ignition and im thinking i may have the timing off a bit. My code tool says timing is at 5.0 which dont sound right to me. I have an actron cp9145 scan tool.

TIA

See if your scantool has a value for cam retard or camshaft offset, should rev engine over 1200 rpms for it to be accurate. The value should be 0 +/- 2 degrees. To correct for a negative reading, turn distributor counterclockwise, and for a positive reading turn clockwise

I could be wrong but Om prety sure you cant time Vortech Engines. They the ignition is puter controlled, hense it times it self.

The spark timing and injector timing are computer controlled, but you need the base timing to be correct for the engine to run good, if the base timing is off to far you start having misfire problems

Thanks for the help. I have or think I have the base timing set correctly. My scan tool doesnt give me the cam position which I think is whats off a hair.

I have tested all circuits for faulty ground with no problems found.

I am also guessing some of my performance problems are coming from incorrectly torqued rocker arms. I think I may have them a tad to tight.

I have also found it is running very rich. Im going to try and diagnose that as well. Any takers?

You can't THINK you have the cam/crank correlation right, you have to KNOW 100%
First thing is to get the cam/crank correlation down to no more than 2 degrees. Do this before trying to diagnose any more concerns
