Well after about 1 year of unconstant hard work i finally finished this 1949 mercury. I made my own custom tailights out of tubing, custom headlights out of a parts box, homemade skirts, and fenderflares around the from fenders which you cannot see because to picture is so dark.I also made my own sidepipes(they arent the greatest since its my firts time making my own pipes.) I will be getting new pictures of the car on here in a two days. The color is duplicolor: deep cranberry pearl. i did not wet sand the car i just polished it with some Turtle wax color back . Here are the pictures.
Enjoy of what you can see of the car, i forgot that a dark color against a dark color doesnt work, lol.

Looks VERY clean? Any engine pics? Exhaust looks pretty good, just a thought, maybe if you used solid alum tubing the center wouldn't collapse. You could just drill out the ends to make it look hollow.

You could also stick solder inside the tube until after you bend it to prevent collapses.
Great build, though. The paint is super shiney.

Hey, I was looking for the picture of the face! I think that was the best one. While I was scrolling down I was like where is that picture you took?
You gotta take outside pics soon, then they'll all of the car.
Yea as I told you b4, nice job on the car, best merc on your shelves! :smokin:

Hot paint on a really slick custom job. Fantastic work, the tails are especially cool.

Great job! Love the color and style you have going on, it is also nice to see a finished version of this kit since I once had it and never finished it.
