I went to change my supercharger oil today and I used a 3/16" allen like the owners manual said and now the hole is round inside! :banghead:
What do i do now?
Should I try to bang a 7/32" into the round hole, and hope that works or is there a chance I break the housing trying that.
And if that doesnt work then what?

You think you can just do a simple job real quick then something like this always happens.

:wtf:

Oh that sucks. I know what you mean. Should be simple no problem and then look what happens. Is there any way you can get a dremmel cut off wheel on it and slice a notch for a heafty screw driver to fit into. I cant remember what it looks like to know if this is a logical thing to try.

an ez out would work or maybe try a metric allen

Ripn,
Don't think you should use an EZ out. The metal will end up inside the supercharger. The metric allen may work if you can get a bite on it.
I kind of like "roses" way. If you can cut a notch into it, you could get a large screw driver on it.

Gonna have to try metric allen first then buy a new plug.
Am I the ony person who has had this problem?
Does GM use loc-tite or something on it?

EzOut would be the same idea of a metric allen, just better. Find an ezout that is alittle bigger then the hole in the screw and lightly tap it into the hole, then take a wrench and loosen.

You could also try a similar sized torx. It would bite pretty hard if you could wedge/bang it in there

It may snap like a pretzle and then you have a bigger problem. Take your time. You shouldn't get any shavings in the SC unless you drill thru the plug.. Good luck! :2cents:

How sensitive is the S/C housing? I dont want to crack it tapping something in.
Its made of aluminum right?

Its made of aluminum right?Tapping on a new tap shouldn't hurt it. When I had my plug out it looked to be about 1/2 in. deep there. Where you the last one to have the plug out? I believe only a few inch pounds of pressure are necessary to secure that plug. :2cents:

Ok done...
My plug is now a 5mm allen lol
I hammered it in and it came out. (there was f'n loc-tite on it, some people are just dumb i guess)
No problems after it came out.
I used the spray bottle w/some vacuum hose technique.
Worked really good.
Took two full bottles to fill it back up so i guess that means I got almost all of the old oil out.
Thanks for the help guys.
