2003 Taurus transmission surge on startup in park

Can anyone shed some light on this: My 2003 Taurus, purchased in June,
tends to surge a bit (in park) upon initial start-up, especially when cold. It feels as though it wants to go into gear, then hits the parking pawl. I have never encountered this before; the dealer seems to think it is common, especially with the Duratec engine and is not a problem...It did not do this when I bought it. I'd appreciate an email from anyone with a similar experience ASAP, as the car goes in to the dealer Nov 23 for an oil leak. Many thanks, - Dennis [email protected]
