timming belt change, I need advice.

wassup guys, I need some advice on my next tune up. It soon gonna be time for a new timming belt so here is the list of things to go with it:
Kevlar timming belt from 3sx.
new tensioners (all three including the timming tensioner)
new water pump.
front main oil seal
new crank pulley from 3sx (lightweight)
and of course the belts.
ok now my question is, I know that timming on these cars is tricky so is it safe to trust any regular mechanic to do this? I can change all this out but I dont dare touch the timming. also I know most ASE certified dudes can change a timming belt but since I am also installing a new cranck pulley should I take it to Mitsubishi? I heard there is some special Mitsu tool used to hold or adjust the crank during timming belt changes......any one know about that? has anyone else here had a independent mech change thier timming belts? Mitsubishi is charging me around 2K for this job, I know It can be done for around 900 but is it safe to go outside of mitsu?

yes you can go with a normal mechanic as long as he is qualified he should be ok. i did mine myself, you dont need the adjusting tool you just need to get the correct tension on it which any mechanic will know through experience. just go with someone you know is qualified and reliable and you will be ok.

Anymore questions, feel free. And i do have the 'special mitsu tool.' its also called a spanner wrench, and if you need to use it, we can work something out, maybe you just pay for shipping.

Spanner wrench eh? cool thanks man. so you two where able to do it all by yourselves? straight but I get so nervous when I work on my car. always better to work on someone elses! well I'll keep shopping around, good mechanics are hard to find and when I do find them they tell me flat out "thats a complicated engine to work on". wish there was someone in this town who knew thier imports! most of the expirienced older chaps around know thier fords and GMs but wont work on imports and the punk ass kids that like imports and set up "speedshops" dont know jack! most arent even certified!

I see. Was that the week that you said you took off to play some game? I remember you saying something like that... Nothing really new here except that I'm freakin' sick. And last week I threw off my shoulder playing volleyball. Hehe It was so fun that I was careless so I was like smashing every set that I got. When my body cooled off, my shoulder was killing me. But yeah, I'm all healed up now so we're gonna go at it again today at 4. Hehe YAY-YAH!!!! Boo's okay....but I kinda scratched her up yesterday. Freakin' school bus parked hella close and when I was trying to get out, I kinda scratched her a little. My poor babie.... :( How about you? Did you ever sell your hood yet? How was your vacation??? I need one of those. LOL

dude I chilled like it was my last week on earth, played SRS and some other games, caught a car show (international auto salon) and caught some sun. I didnt get to sell the hood yet, no one is willing to buy it apparently so I'm lowering the price to 350 and if not I'll just put it on e-bay for like 300 and see what happens. I'm sorry to hear about the scratch man, that sucks, hope its not too bad.
