Well here is one I hope you guys can answer!!!!
Why is it every time I pick up a mag there is a half naked girl 50% of the pages, what happend to giving the reader some good advice and some nice cars to look at.
From eveyone I've talked to, they buy the mags for the articals not the
girl draped over 17 inch rims :eek7: I know some of you guys probably like it but then there are some that dont
what do you guys think?
ya just my little rant, my :2cents:

those are usuallly just fan boy mags for 16 year old guys to look at. if you want a real magazine, pick up Grassroots Motorsports or Car and Driver.

yeah, I read motor trend, automobile, and car and driver mostly. but hot import tuner/turbo mag, whatever else has the hot chick on the cover, used to pick them up first, but I look at the index and usually wanna read more of whats in the others so I never buy them, but nothing wrong with almost naked women on the cover or inside IMO. theres lots of pics in the ones I read, so why not make em better? :naughty:

this is why GrassrootsMotorsports exists.
it used to be AutoX specific, but they are reaching more into the rest of the car world. it is an amazing car magazine, and i highly recommend it.
i usually read car mags to see what is new in the automotive world... and thus have subscriptions to Road & Track, Autoweek, Automobile, Car and Driver, GRM, and Automotive Engineering Intertantional. for the "oooooh AAAAah!" factor, there is always Top Gear. imho, keep the porn to the porn and the car stuff to the car stuff.

The only 2 magazines I like are Grassroots Motorsports and Racecar engineering. No half naked girl in either. GRM is very simple but meaty in content. Racecar Engineering is very nerdy but educational.

I love grassroots. Only magazine that I can sit down and read from cover to cover. after being blessed with grassroots I look at superstreet and almost want to laugh at them.(although, they really arent THAT bad.. sometimes...)

I agree, i hate the whole chicks posing on hoods thing. Its retaded, car and porn should not mix.
The only import tunig mag I respect is Sport Compact Car. It has some very good tech articles. And the only girls you get to see are sparce and only in stupid ads.

Anyone who buys into advertising of half naked girls on 17" rims is asking to get burned. And should. :evillol:
I can easily live without seeing the flesh-bots draped on the rim. If the tire has what it takes in testing, post the stats. If not, sell me on how cheap it is. If neither, your wasting my time. Get a better product.
No flesh-bots are going to change my mind. They just raise warning flags that the product may not live up to the image shown.

I've never read GRM, but Sport Compact Car has served me well over the years. The tech articles in the back of each issue are informative and well-presented, and all of the author's can write with some degree of profficiency (no endless jokes about "Nad's man-boob"). Also, if you're into Hondas, Honda Tuning is a must. They're one of the few magazines that still feature EF's regularly.

Oh the humanity! Pick up an issue of Grassroots Motorsports and you'll never go back to Sport Compact again. Also, there's a newer magazine out now called "Racer" which I've found to be really good for those who are interested in the pro racing scene. But if you're into DIY racing, GRM is indeed the way to go.
Honda people also should pick up Honda Tuner.
Subaru people should pick up SubieSport, etc. The list goes on...

With all the good things I'm hearing about GRM lately, I'll definitely have to check it out.
