Ok, on my 92 si, a lot of times my dash lites for my climate control don't come on when i have my headlights on unless i give the dash a good smack. Also, my right corner light will work sometimes and sometimes not. Plus, my horn wont' work sometimes. I was driving the other night and it wouldn't work. So i went to the store, came out and started it up and it worked but it doesnt' seem very loud. could all these be the wiring going bad?? Or a relay or somethin?

I wouldn't suspect wiring (it's hard for the internals of a wire to "go bad" other than thru chaffing ... I would suspect where the bulb makes contact to the connection - Your corner light will be the easiest one to work on so start with that... remove the corner light (it's a bitch and you usually have to loosen the front headlight a bit to wiggle it out) when you have it out, unplug the connector from the car frame (inspect this connector as well although i doubt it's the problem) then remove the entire socket from the corner light (lefty loosey sorta deal) now you will have the socket in your hand with the bulb - take the bulb out and inspect it, and ispect the socket for corrosion - or loose pins - what helps a lot is if you use something small to sorta pry the pins inwards a bit so there is more pressure/direct contact - put the bulb back in - and i'm pretty sure you're intimittent probs should be gone.

it's most likely something similar for your dash - especially if *hitting it* (tisk tisk) bumps the connection back on. however i don't envy you if you have to go digging for that light bulb.

as for the horn... perhaps someone else can field that

Ohhhh, also sometimes my blinkers blink back and forth instead of both at the same time. So, the two lights that blink will alternate. then sometimes they'll blink at the same time.

Yeah the vents don't change position very easily, and i have to give the dash a smack for the ac light to come on and for it to start working.

Pleeese somebody help, it's getting so annoying. This morning when i started my car and had the defroster going, and then switched it to the heater blowing on me, it kept going on defrost i had to play around with it for a few minutes before it changed to the heat. All of these things have to be interconncected...

The dash controller has a cold solder joint. Replace it.

The controller that you see on the dash, it has all the heater/ac button etc. It can be repaired, but its a little involved. A new one will solve your prlblems. Also the relay for the ac clutch it probably bad if it has not been changed in 6 years or so. I posted this earlier.

Thread......Re: 92 Prelude Air conditioner comes on and off (Post #12)
soccmid, to replace the ac controls , the module with the buttons . it has two connectors (one to the fan switch and the other for the buttons). to repair the small connector (to buttons): remove center console cover, remove radio, remove the screw under the module (stubby phillips) and the front screws, disconnect the heater cable (it just slips out of a clip), unplug the two connectors and replace. to repair this module find the connector with the small pins, cut the plastic from the other side to access the soldered side of the pins, support the pins (they will move when the solder melts), resolder them with a fine tip soldering iron. it's very hard to see the bad connections at the solder joint.

Well, I just completed the repair described above and when I plugged it back up, the control unit still worked (thank god, because a new costs $360). I am new to soldering and bought a cheap battery powered soldering to get the job done (Hakko FX-901). It worked like a charm once I got the hang of it. Only time will tell if it really solved the problem. I've got a picture showing access to the soldered joints if anyone is interested. If anyone has questions about the repair, let me know.
