You really cant do it beacause on a NT you are always in vac their is no positive pressure that u can blow off. But you can get a nifty speaker that makes the sound.

Some dude down here in his Civic put on a bov right onto his aem intake piping and it did nothing. He would rev, no sound. Its bullshit. BOVs are for turbo cars.

Theres no pressure to release.

lol there is no effect. people who know how a turbo system works and why a blowoff valve is there know that putting a bov on a n/t is ludacris and pointless. lol but it's funny

even on a turboed car ; a BOV upgrade adds no HP ,it just allows the motor to hold more psi....apples to apples, a new bov on a car will make it sound cooler but if the psi isnt changed the upgrade has no efect...

oh well that explains it a little bit better lol

Read this; it should help clear up a few questions any why a bov on a n/t work!

Quoting Dennis Grant. You can read the whole writeup here: Turbo Fundamentals: By Dennis Grant (http://www.dsm.org/menu.epl?item=363)

"BOV

Everybody likes BOV's because of the nifty sneeze sound they make.
However, a BOV is an evil device. It's taking your precious boost and
venting it to someplace else. Bad!

Unfortunatly, it's a necessary evil, and we have to live with it. Here's
why:
You're under boost, the turbo is fully spooled, and life is good - then
you shift. That means your foot comes off the gas - and the throttle
plate slams shut. Suddenly, instead of flowing in a continuous stream
through the engine, the intake air smacks into the closed throttle
plate. The turbo, which is still spinning and producing boost because if
it's rotational inertia keeps producing pressure, and the intake stream,
caught in between a rock and a hard place, jumps in pressure. In fact,
you get a high-pressure shockwave that travels from the throttle plate
back to the compressor vanes, that once it gets there, is a little like
poking a stick into the spokes of a bike wheel.

The repeated shock is hard on the compressor vanes and the shaft
bearings, and in any case acts like a brake, slowing the turbo, and
requiring it to be spooled up again.

The BOV sits in between the turbo and the throttle plate, and if it
detects the shockwave created by a shift, vents it elsewhere - either to
atmosphere, or back to the inlet side of the turbo.

So, we lost boost pressure, but we kept the turbo spooled... tough to
say without a dyno if that was a fair trade on a race vehicle. On a
street vehicle, it was definately a good idea, becuase we spared our
expensive turbo a mechanical shock."

I remember not having a turbo charged car, and for fun my friend and I would play the sound of a Supra in my car. We were such dorks. We actually got a couple people to look though.

Not to highjack the thread, but does anyone know what the thingy is that you can wrig up to blow smoke out of certain areas (wheel well, vents where the windsheild wipers are... etc.)? Excuse my nievety.

that would be a purge valve for nitrous...i know a guy that bought a nitrous kit just so he could purge it. at a show he went thru a whole 10 pound bottle ($4 @ lb = $40) just purging it, and i think he never has even used it to make him faster. if your gunna get nitrous, use it, dont just get it to purge! lol

oh yea and that 32" sub... those things are nuts. we had one at work we pounded so hard the wall (yes wall) we made for the front of the box blew out. that sub was pretty nuts. i dont know why anyone would buy it though!

Ya purging, funny shit, i mean there is a purpose to clean out dibris and shit, but not like a whole bottle worth...looks cool too...but how much does it take to fill a bottle with NO2?
Edit: Common now, i didn't finish reading Jakes post, $4 lb

those BOV speakers are funny ones if u ever see a car one. I've seen a ricer with one of those, everytime he lets go of the gas, it makes that noise...its pretty funny, but pretty lame when racing...hahahha

as I said in my earlier post, a Civic guy shoved it onto his aem intake piping. It does nothing though.

as for those BOV speakers, they are very stupid, you can totally tell its fake (the sound is all the same), especially when the guy is still doing 0-60 in 10 sec. hahahaha.
