Omg look at this FMIC, its HUGE! And it completely eliminates the Y pipe.

And only $2,353! Pit road M makes great stuff. So what are the advantages of a FMIC (other than the obvious great look) and how moded would and engine be for it to become a good upgrade?

Front Mount InterCooler I think you can notice some gains no matter what, but unless you have a lot of mods done you would be better off with just some dsm's

They're so expensive for the VR4, i've seen Ones for civics selling for like 500 pipes and all.

The civic ones are also a lot smaller have only have 1 turbo, so there is about 1/2 the piping.

A FMIC will drop your intake temps, which will allow you to make more power at the same boost, and you will be able to turn your boost up a little more. Lots of people say that our stock ones are "good enough" until you get heavily modded, but if you compair flow numbers you see a huge difference over stock. For example, the stock IC's flow 133CFM each, grand total of 266CFM. My FMIC Flows 1200CFM at the same presure drop, and cools the air to around 80-100* in the summer. Stock temps are generally around 130-140.

Not all FMIC's are 2-3 grand, Mine was 1100, and now they sell for around 1300.

Wow thats great to know, do you have upgraded turbos? I forget lol, hard to remember names on here sometimes and you don't post as much as some like myself  [/postwhore]. Can't wait to get myself a VR4.

Edit: After looking at the site I am wondering wheather the 14" has both turbos plug directally into the IC, looks like it but not shure. And does that benifit the system or is it just a different style?

each turbo has its own pipe all the way to the IC, most people say there is no benifit, but the guy who makes them says there is potential for this to work better, but no one says thats its worse than merging before the IC.

My oppinion is that he hasnt made a TT kit before and didnt want to merge to 2" pipes into a 3" pipe. Doesnt matter much to me.

So wait the kit you bought from this guy didn't have all the piping included?

It has all the piping for a TD04 car, TD05's fit differently, and I didnt like the way the TD05 kit went with the FMIC kit, so I cut all the piping to hell and am welding it back together how I see fit.

Ahh now I get it, so whens the car going to be "finished" lol? Can you drive it now? Never thought that having different turbos would make that big a difference but then again they're totaly different in size and housings and all I think.

I was driving for a while, but its apart for the winter so I can finish the small stuff that I just didnt want to do because it was nice out. Should be back together when it warms up, until then Ill leave it apart to fix/customize all the stuff I can.

For turbo differences, the stock front points down and the rear points up, TD05's are the exact opposite.

how do FMICs effect engine cooling? i mean your radiator is already behind the AC condenser, then you stick a highly restrictive intercooler in the way, thats what i'v always wondered about.

talskinyguy, are you planning on running it at the track...I don't remember ever hearing times from you...

There is no way in hell I can pass tech right now, oil dripping from my turbos, battery strapped down in the rear of the car, not in a box.

As far as cooling, my car sits riht at 180 when driving and only goes up to 190 when im still.
