Hi everyone.
I have a question about my car. Its a 91 Pontiac Bonneville with a 3.8L it has approx 130000 miles on it. It runs pretty decent for what it is but all of a sudden today as I am driving along the "Service engine soon" light comes on and stays on.....The car runs fine but as I am sure you all know, That orange light is really annoying. I did small checks looking for loose wires and checked the oil, down a quart. But I didnt find anything really wrong with it. I topped off the oil and disconnected the battery in hopes that it would reset that light but nope. Its still on and the car runs the same as it always done. Does anyone have any kind of an idea what could be up with this light??? Any help you could offer is greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Most parts stores can chect the codes for you. However this engine has a known issue with injectors getting clogged. On this OBD1 system you would get a code for the O2 sensor or missfire. Use some fuel injection cleaner and clear the code. See if it returns. Good Luck.
