Holy shit these noobs and these questions.
Search, god damn it! Search!
I think I gotta take a few months off from this board. I can't take it anymore. Ever since they split the forums, a zillion newbies crawled out from the cracks like termites out of a rotten log.
I'll see you guys in the spring or something.
Stay cool.

but i was told that putting a 2.5" piping is too big for a 1.6 engine and i would lose pressure... is this true or it doesnt matter. so all im asking now is that, is 2.5 piping too big?

opening up the exhaust at all is going to make you lose back pressure. That's the trade off here. Less back pressure more horsepower.

Well, a quality cat-back would be one way. If you were to go custom, 2.25" piping with a quality muffler and a big resonator, I'm talking 18"+, will keep it from being buzzy and farty. Just an example, I'm planning on using 2.25" mandrel bent pipe with a Magnaflow oval muffler and a Magnaflow 4" round 22" long resonator. I've heard this exact exhaust on other Sentras and it sounds soooooooooooo good.

This may be a dumb question, but what is a resonator?

It's basically an enlarged pipe packed with fiberglass to muffle the sound. If you look underneath your car, it is the enlarged pipe after the cat. Usually inline with the B pipe.

It depends on the quality that you get. You can get a glass pack for $20. Magnaflow has a nice set of stainless steel resonators that go upwards of $100 I believe. I'm just going to go with their aluminum 4" canister. Works just as well, just going to have to paint it or something so it doesn't rust.

hahahah.. if u listen to any of these guys you will be stuck with a nice farting exhaust. please please please... if you really do care about you car and the noises that it will be projecting, go for a REMUS. when you hear your car REV up with this cat back in your car, i promise that a tear will go down your eye from the beautiful tone that this car makes... try these guys, they offer very good prices for REMUS..
