Max Boost

I was wondering what the max boost would be on a stock 93 Talon turbo 5 speed if I was to put a manual boost control valve on it, I mean leaving the bottom end ( crank, rods, and pistons stock), wouls 12 psi be to much, and what kind of power would I be building approx.

first get a real boost guage because the stock one is almost worthless. once you get a real guage you can safely boost 14-15 once you've done all the free mods (remove intake silencer, remove bcs, dumptube mod, etc..) search here or vfaq.com for directions for the free mods

I wuld rewire the stock fuel pump too (vfaq), 1g pump is a toilet.

On a PROPERLY SET UP 90-92 6 bolt 1g, over 30 psi is doable on the stock block/internals. On a 93, which has a 7bolt motor, I would be a little more careful, but 30 psi has also been done on those and over 500whp. The trick is getting the car properly set up ;)

if your talking about your 14b turbo, getrid if the boost controll sylinoid, replace it with a $20 maunal boost controler, like said above get a boost gauge, and keep it under 18psi untell you change your fuel pump, rewire it.

but really get a boost gauge before you start screwing around with boost ;)
