swapping an rsx type-s engine into my 7th gen civic and i was just wondering if there are any good auto trannys out there that can be hooked up to this engine? i dont mind driving stick but i drive in traffic often and im afraid that if im really tired some night and have to drive home itd be worse for me to have stick then auto. anyone know the difference in quarter mile time/trap speed on the rsx non-s with the stick and the manual? well any help taht you can send my way on this issue would be much appreciated, thnx.

aww come on man, you gotta slap the 6 speed in there! Just go get a $2000 pos to drive in traffic or if you think your gonna get tired. Just think about ripping through all 6 gears in your 200hp a2...mmm....now thats the good stuff!

there are times when driving a manual when you are so tired you wish the car would shift itself, but still have that extra speed of a manual.

i still havent wished i had anything but a manual, i never get tired of driving it. I have driven for 20 hours straight and the last shift was as great as the first. But thats just me.

Traffic jam manual driving has lost its appeal, but I love my 6 speed! I swear on the highway I shift into 5th and back to 6th just cause I miss shifting when I get in the highway

I'm not laughing at you, pal...I'm laughing WITH you...
And you're right. There's absolutely NOTHING funny about Jersey. It's more of a scary type of place...

Level 10 doesn't manufacture auto tranny's so unfortunatly you can't go there to buy a transmission. They do a heck of a job building them up/"Bulletproofing" them, so if you have an auto and want to build it up or strenghten it, they are a very good place to go. They can build up, make more efficent and bulletproof your auto tranny. The usually have 3 stages in most cases. Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3. ON an auto B18B1 for example, stage 2 is good to 250whp and stage 3 to 475whp. The torque converter has a stall speed of between 2600-3100rpm usually. They claim the tranny is more effeicent also after stage 3, which translates to 13% more power to the wheels than before due to the increased efficency.
Level 10's PTS (Performance Transmission System) Bulletproof upgrade isn't exactly cheap @ the stage 3 level. Around $475-500 for the torque convertor and $3200 for the PTS Bulletproof Kit. If you want them to install it all (good idea) that's of course extra, + shipping (which they can arange).
Even though Level 10 doesn't sell their own trannys, if you do happen to have an auto tranny, the apporperate level 10 torque convertor and PTS upgrade for your power goals is a good idea.

there are times when driving a manual when you are so tired you wish the car would shift itself, but still have that extra speed of a manual.
Never had that problem. And I live in the 2nd worst area next to CA - MD/VA/DC! It's getting really bad out here! The shifter is so smooth and since the car allows you to almost come to a complete stop before it stalls it's almost like driving an auto with a clutch. Of course, if you've never driven a manual before, it might be more of a pain to drive in stop-and-go traffic.
