I have an 01 Eclipse Spyder GT manual tranny

I am going to purchase a CAI. So far Injen seems to look like the best. I thought that i heard people have dynoed there car and got 11 more WHP. Is this true and where is the least expensive place to purchase it.

Also, i have a basic knowledge of cars, basic tools and common sense. Will i be able to installl this and how long will it take?

installing it will be vary easy. like 10-15minutes. it is quoted to gain 7-9 whp and i found mine for $235 shipped on the internet. can't remember the sight though.

their not really worth the HP to $ ratio. just go online and buy one from e-bay, or if you really want to save money make ur own out of PVC, that will work just as well. save the money and spend the difference on hooker's and booze. :)

i might agree with coyote except for the PVC part. dont use PVC pipe unless its the industrial strength. regular PVC pipe will helt

yeah thats pretty much implied. thought everyone might of figured that one out, but then again there are some real dumbasses in here so thank's eclipsed4utoo for pointing that out.

i just knew that some newbie was gonna come on, read about the PVC, and go make his own using standard PVC pipe b/c he didnt know better.

The reality of any intake is that manufacturers claim anywhere from 10-30hp, but in the real world, you will get 3-5. All intakes are moderately equal, by going with an Injen you are going to spend a few extra hundred on a sticker...go with a $40 ebay intake, you wont notice a difference performance-wise. If you are worried about filtration, get the cheap intake kit off ebay, and then buy a K&N cone filter and attach it to that...you're still looking at under $100 and the same exact results.

PJ automotive has one and if you check the other 3g sites, theres someone selling injen intakes for about 150$ a pop...er at leats he was, i got mine new/used from canada and it sounds swweeettt
