Has anyone here installed a amp-gauge in a 1g, i am almost certain on how to install it, but something about it seems not right. I was told that i need to go through the firewall, but in the instructions(which were good), it said i didn't.

doesnt matter if you go through the firewall. you need to mount the guage inside and the wires need to go into the engine compartment. you can either put it througth an existing hole in the firewall, drill a new hole, or run it out the door jamb and inside the fender into the engine bay. doesnt matter how you get it to the engine as long as you get it there and hook it to the right wires

In the instructions, it says to simply find a ground(hook it up), then find a wire that is powered, when the ignition is in on-assecories-start(which my headunit is hooked up like that, so i could wire into that. See, its seems to simple to be true. I really don't need the most accurate measurement, since its my battery, either its good or bad, right.

sounds like any wire that gets power from the battery will do. Try it and find out.

Yeah, it doesnt matter. Mine works from pretty much anywhere. You'll get the same readings all around the car. Since my stereo isnt usiong the default wires, I have the gauge hooked up to the Ignition wires and then grounded to the center frame of the car. (right behind radio).
