clutch is sticking!

ok the other day my clutch started to stick to the floor....it doesn't do it every time, and it has and has not done it on left turns (so i know it's not crankwalk because i took a hell of a left turn earlier, heh) and it didn't stick....anyway i tried bleeding the clutch twice already. it has made it a little better but still sticks every now and then....when it sticks, i can tell before i let the clutch out all the way...say i'm in 1st gear, stopped. i let the clutch out a bit to go and the clutch instantly grabs (because the engage point has magically move to the floor). i pop it in neutral, and the clutch stays there....i'm thinking maybe a bad slave cylinder? if it's not the slave, what else could it be? the clutch is pretty much BRAND NEW (less than 8k on it) and it's cf dual friction...
thanks for any help

do you still have enough clutch fluid in the container after you bleed it?

I have seen the 2g return spring hold the clutch down when there is not enough force to push it back up. COuld be a master cylinder. Check on the inside of the firewall just above the clutch pedal/rod for fluid leakage. If thats leaking replace/get it replaced. If its not, I would HIGHLY recomend measuring the crankshaft endplay. Not sticking on left turns and having CW are hardly related well enough to say you dnt have it ;) But it is rare, my money is on the master cylinder. You can also check the slave that is on the front of the tranny. Slide the boot back away from the body and look for fluid leakage. Should be dry in there.
For more info on CW and measuring thrust play, there is a good thread on www.racingknowledge.org in the DSM section. I Think its a sticky, if not search for it. I give detailed instructions on how to measure it, or how to have a shop measure it.

my master cylinder isn't leaking and neither is the slave....when i bleed it, i make sure the master cylinder doesn't get too low, i pour DOT3 brake fluid into it so it doesn't get too low...i'm thinking maybe a bad slave cylinder.....my one friend said it could be my pressure plate but my clutch disc, pressure plate and t/o bearing are all new.....and it's not like i launch at every stop or side-step the clutch.

I would get thrust play measured just for peace of mind.

alright...now i noticed, if i'm stopped, and i just *rest* my foot on the clutch pedal, it slowly drops to the floor and stays there....but if i push it in quickly, it won't stick....anyone know what this could be? bad slave?

Try it. Hard for us to know what is wrong from the other side of a computer. Slave is cheaper, so start there. If that doesnt fix it, do the master. IF the slave was leaking though the fluid would leak externally. I believe the master COULD leak fluid by the plunger seals and it would stay in the reservoir perhaps. Perhaps you should start with that one, and if that doesnt work, do the slave. You're looking at ~130 bucks in parts. Not worth saving 130 to ruin the synchros by driving with bad clutch hydraulics. ;)

Dude I had the same problem its your master and slave
Anyways its best to change both the same time to be on the safe side and you dont have to worry
