Engine Light and Starting problems

I own a 1988 delta 88, w/ 3800 motor. My check engine light doesn't turn on, and it will not start. It just up and died while it was running and hasn't started since. Its getting fuel, but i'm not sure if i am getting spark to the plugs. We have changed the coil pack(where plug wires go), and fuel pump to make sure we had fuel getting to the motor. And we changed the PMC module. We have tried a code scanner, but the check engine light doesn't come on, so its useless to us.

Use a test Spark plug that has a alligator clip on the ground electrode to see if you are getting spark. Use a noid light to see if you are getting injector pulse. Just remember, don't forget the basics when diagnosing any no-start conditon. An engine needs four things to run: Fuel, Air, Compression and Spark. Which one don't you have? Granted these things must occur at the correct time, but just make sure they are happening. But anyway, if you can't get code 12, you most likely need a New ECM. They were kind of a problem back then. Most people broke the boards in them when they pushed down to hard when swapping the PROM (MEMCAL).

Sorry, i forgot to give an update on what had happened. The originating problem was the water pump's pulley. It was wobbly and cause my belt to ride wrong on my harmonic balance, and it shreded a thread of it off. And instead of it falling off it then wrapped itself around my harmonic balance behind it getting tangled in the "teeth" for the crank sensor, and screwed that thing up bad. So all we did was change that out and BLAMO works again. But thanks for your help man.
