paint job

ok, ive got a silver 03 ford f 150, and ive got (what looks to me to be rust and the body shopst agree) but ford says its just break dust (sounds rediculs to me) all over, they want to give it an acid wash and they say that will remove the spots, im within miles of my warr. is this there way to pussy foot arround a bad prep job at the faoctory? i dont doubt a night of paist on the truck will remove the break dust but i can also see it hiding up surface rust for a few months (i live in michigan, but one year shouldnt be noticeble body rust, my 98 chevy s 10 isnt rusting and its a chevy, soo i guess im looking for imput, what do you guys think, are they jerken me arround or is this a ligit thing?? :confused:

the ford dealer is full of shit.. and i wouldnt put it past a ford to rust after a year.. i've seen it happen before.. but being as how i just bought Cooper's ford.. im here.. trying desperately to find a site where i can get some good parts..
