intake, exhaust(headers, catback), short-throw shifter, lightweight flywheel, maybe some cams. it all depends on what exactly u want out of ur car...

yea id start with some basic like intake, performence headers, get some performece coils sparks wires spark plug these are simple upgrades but if u want to get more performance u can get camsshaft, valve springs more engine stuff u kno but it really depends on wat u tryin to do with the car and wat u tryin to achieve and even how much u want to spend hav to put all tat into mind....but before all tat u need to plan on wat type of project u want to make out off ur car if u want performance or looks is all up to u...once u get tat all u hav to do is ask on wa best upgrades :bigthumb: good stuff

First off all, dont think of anything like a turbo kit or any other sort of forced induction. You're 2.2L has some guts to it already, so you shouldnt go any farther than a new Intake, Exhaust system, Ignition Coil, Plug Wires, and Plugs. Some new Struts and Springs would do wonders, over that stock, 12 year old mushy Honda Suspension, and you'll also be able to lower it, if that's you're style. You shouldnt worry about you're transmission, you wont have a gross amount of horse power, so if the 5spd is in good condition and in good working order, you'll be fine, no lightweight flywheels or triple plate clutches. As for the outside, i think you're car would look nice painted black, lowered a couple inches, and with some nice, (NOT BLING BLING) Wheels.

Now those parts wont cost you an arm and a leg, and you're car will have some more power to it. If you really want to get into it (i havent the slightest clue to you're mechanical skills) you may want to look into a Port and Polish, and upgraded Valve train, honed cylinders and maybe some cast internals, but those upgrades can get very expencive, and i doubt you'll be pushing you're car often enough to spend that much money on it.
Oh, and remember, its Header, not Headers.

Actually, i didnt say "Mess" with it, like is some godly force, and i said if she's really into it she could do that, i didnt recommend it as a necessity.
