I need help!

I really need some help!

I broke a valve in my '91 toyota p/u SR5 ( 4x4, 3vze ), so I rebuilt the whole engine and heads. I have it mostly back together, but I'm running into some problems. Where the book ( haynes manual ) tells me the ' oil hole cover plate ' goes, I have what I imagine is an oil cooler. It's a cylinder about 2.5 inches long, and about 3 inches in diameter. The bolt through the center of it is hollow, and has holes in it. It also has inlet and outlet pipes. One of the pipes attaches to a similar pipe on the water pump, while the other is attached via a small U-shaped hose to an outlet plugged into the side of the block, directly below the middle freeze plug. I had the block rebuilt at a local shop, and they put a plug in the hole below the freeze plug!

If anybody can tell me what it is that I have, I sure would appreciate it. I've been without my truck far too long, and am so close to having it back together, it is driving me crazy!

sounds like the oil cooler for the optional "towing package" ?

thats about all i got out of it ..

Also, if anybody knows what this is, does anybody have a torque spec for the bolt or the plug that goes into the block?
