What is the most powerful engine that can fit with minimal mods into an '88 'lude? I'm thinking of buying an '88 and the engine block's cracked so i want to replace the engine obviously, but i wanted to modify it so why not get a more powerful engine. Also, in order to turbocharge it at 1 bar, what engine mods whould i have to make that didn't come with a kit? Would I have to lower compression?

Thank you

The easiest swaps would be the stock motor or JDM B20a They will drop right in. In my opinion I would turbo a stock motor or b20a. This would be the easiest and most affordable. The most powerfull swap would be an H22 but plan on paying some cash. You will have to completetly modify everything to make an H22 fit with a turbo setup. Everybody I talk to about the H22 swap with turbo said they wouldnt to it again. But are obviuosly happy with the gains.

Your profile says you are from Ottawa. I live somewhat near lake Michigan. I have a good B20a5 block just sitting in my garage. I am modding a motor to drop in right now and have the stock just sitting in the garage. Depending on where you live I will meet you if you want it. You can have the head and intake if you want it. Let me know

well i would but i dont have the money or the car, i saw a '88 prelude that was in really good condition but the block was cracked and i want to buy it, the only problem is that I'm 16 and insurance would screw me. I'm really just looking at future options.

Insurance should be cheap on the Prelude being an 88.
