checked under the dash compartment and there is almost no space to mount my horns on the passenger side.

u see?
So i had to bust out the recip. saw to a least make some space. That's not all, they are going to me mounted upside down instead because the air blower of the legend is taking up the space.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/GSteg/DSC01728.jpg
because the horn body is long, I had to trim the outer piece to fit it in the legend.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/GSteg/DSC01729.jpg
the mounting part was the difficult part. they give u a long metal rod so u gotta find a way to mount it. I ended up with bleeding fingers because of all the sharp objects down there. My hands slipped many times.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/GSteg/DSC01731.jpg
here is the result of the passenger side. Notice that there is a gap between the top of the horn and the glove compartment. Most cars you would see almost no gap. When i open the glove compartment of the legend, it would hit the horns if i were to have no gaps. So now it has to look ugly. lol. Every other car that i have seen does not need to mount it like I have it right now. gaps=ugly.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/GSteg/DSC01732.jpg
gotta take the foot rest out when mounting it upside down or else you would not be able to put the horns back as far as possible with the passenger side.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/GSteg/DSC01734.jpg
Here it is. That's the best you could probably do with it. If i were to make it look like the passenger side, they would not work as well because one would be further out and the height of each horns would not be the same. having it parallel to each other is very critical.

When it's all done.

the crossovers are not in yet. I'm waiting for a good EQ to appear on Ebay, preferrably a 31 band EQ such as the ID or the Behringer (home audio). These will need a bit of tuning to sound good. there is too much spikes right now.
the minihorns would have fit better, but i didn't want to sacrifice any sound quailty. lol.
any input would be nice. i know it's messy, but that's because i'm not done.

they are the image dynamics CD1e v2 horns (full body). granted they are not real compression drivers, they have the same purpose.
the horns have a natural rolloff at around 1.2khz. so there is no need for an xover.
i'm running 6" Dayton reference mids for now. Going to upgrade to some Seas Lotus for midrange and then some Scan Speak Revelators for midbass.
it looks ugly because i haven't finished it yet. lol. I"m going to put some tan colored cloth over them so hey blend in more with the interior

i'm glad your not using a an xover, one of my friend was crossing them over much higher than that because he wated to use some cheap ass mid range..........how much power to them, i'd imagine no more than 50 watts.........

it has 25w on them right now. ideally, horns should be crossed around 1.2khz or around there.
Just don't cross them too low. the mids needs to keep up with the horns so they'll has less problem playing lesser range of freq. it's kind hard to distort the horns with nondistorted power because it'll get too loud before it has the chance to distort. lol

ugh, I hate you
I thought about doing the revs in my car, but the midbass need sealed enclosures and I don't have the room for kicks, so I went elsewhere. But that should sound very nice

i wouldn't want more than 30 per side for me, i was in a car with 30x2 on some horns and it was really loud...

not sure what kind of budget you're looking at for that, but you might want to check out the Alpine PXA-H700 (http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=PXA-H700&p_category=160&p_subcategory=&p_main=10). I can't really list everything it does, but here's a short list:
automatic time correction with included mic
5 independent 31 band (20-20k in 1/3 oct steps) graphic EQs: front (can be used for tweets) L and R, rear L and R, center (it can be used as a dolby processor), plus a 10 band (20-160 in 1/3 oct steps) graphic EQ for the sub
5 independent 5 band parametric EQs (20-20k in 1/6 oct steps): front L and R, rear L and R, center, plus a 2 band parametric (20-200 in 1/6 oct steps) for the sub
and the range for the active crossovers covers anything you would want, all channels (front, rear, sub) can be bandpassed, all 1/6 oct steps, all slopes adjustable between 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, or 30 dB/oct.
Occasionally it pops up on ebay for about $500 new

the horns i have now are piezoelectric drivers. They are not real compression drivers, as in the design, but they have the same concept. Only difference really is the frequency response and the efficiency. 5w on a cd2comp will be enough for anyone. lol. bass head or not.

wish i can afford that. lol. I can't fit anything in my dash anymore. Anyone that knows alpine, there are a lot of crap that goes out of the headunit so all the space is consumed.
I'm leaning towards the Behringer right now though because its cheaper and has a built in RTA. But i'm not sure if the digital controls are reliable. I prefer the slides in terms of reliability, but oh well. lol

Ok well i am brand spankin new to this whole car audio deal and i have a s10 blazer with 2 12s and aftermarket speakers and HU. Under the glove compartment there is about a 3 inch high and 2 1/2 foot long space that is supposed to hold something, well it holds shit. I was wondering with some mod to the dash if i could fit a horn under there?

take a picture under the dash and i'll see. anyone that knows my car will know that there is no space under the dash.
a buddy of mine has an S10 truck (same platform as the blazer), and he has much bigger horns in his truck. Though i forgot how he has his mounted.
btw, i'm selling my horns right now. lol. I'm running all without bass because my DEI amp blew :(
