Hi, new to forum. would like to know how to read codes on a 94 bird? Do i have to take it to the dealership or indepentent garage with proper equipment, or can i do it myself? Thanks in advance

Autozone will check them. I took mine to autozone and they read mine and told me what it was. Im not sure if they can always tell you what it means though. I bet some of these guys will tell you what they are if you have them checked though.

They will a 94 to because it is the exact same as the 95 bird. A parts store can read the codes for you but that doesn't mean that is what is wrong with the car though.

The codes are just what your car is telling isn't "perfect" for lack of better words but you use them to tell you what is causing a problem.
The codes ussually tell you several things that are wrong.
