hmm, i dont know what to tell ya. The only way to distinguish cel's in a obd-1 vehicle is to count the flashes and look up the code according to that.

Well, I'm thinking it must be air mass sensor, because the car is kind of jerky when I just start going in thr first gear 'till I gas it up a bit.Either that or fuel filter, I'm not sure. Thanks for the reply.

Hey there. yeah i have the same problem with my ford. the light is on and my car jerks a little on the first gear. its automatic by the way.
As i was told by some people that there could be few problems.
one----O2 sensor
two----air mass leak
three--sensor on the air tube went bad
I used the computer that i hooked up to my car and it told me
P0171 system too lean(bank 1)
if anyone know what that means please reply or send me email
[email protected]
thank you

it means your rear bank is running lean. (more air than fuel). Id check for air leaks, clean the maf sensor, etc.

is the MAF sensor located on the air tube right by the air intake?

Like I said in your other post. OBD-I does not have a connection. You count the flashes.
Btw, thanks for reviving a 3 year old post.
