The other day my cav got up to 230 degrees so i figured I needed more antifreeze, I bought the green 50/50 kind and added it, the temp droped to around 195-97 so i figured it was ok. However a friend told me that if i had the orange coolant before that it could clogg up and lead to big ass amout of trouble, i take it its the dex-coolant and I did have it in before. DID I JUST MESS UP MY CAR OR WHAT??!!

When you mix dexcool with any other type of coolant it will turn into a goo and clog everything. Take it somewhere asap and have it flushed, or you may end up needing to replace some things.

the day after i bought my cavalier i flushed out that dexcoll stuff and put all new normal green stuff in there. i cannot stand dexcool and don't ask why but how much 50/50 did u put in there just one gallon. put i would get it flushed just to be safe.

Ditto. Flushing is a good idea. Don't feel too bad though, 230 degrees is about as hot as you want to go. You got the temp down and that was the main thing at the time.
