i was wondering how do i remove my rev limiter, and is this a good idea?

it's a computer issue and bad idea it's there for a reason.

It would require having ur PCM reprogrammed and like indyram said, it would be a bad idea to have it changed. I think it's set to 5800 rpm's in your vehicle, and in yours anything much higher then 6000 and your looking at engine damage. But then again, i see u have a 2.4 liter, so it might have higher rpms. well in my car (3.4 L) 5800 is a good limit because it allows 200 rpms worth of buffer before the "red zone". point being: removed rev limiter in any GA without significant engine work first = Bad.

Ridenour is right, if you want more rev's you shoud do work to the engine. The quad4 is a good place to start because of the cam setup which will allow for much higher rpm range, but without beefier valve springs you could get fluttering valve issues and smoke your engine. ie the valves will start to stay open longerbecause of the speed they're travelling at and when the piston comes to tdc the two will collide together causing some serious damage.
