Is that a supercharger?

Judging by the wing, the shop, and the name above the door, it looks almost like it's going to be drifted...

Edit: ...and also the "TEAM TOYO DRIFT" decal on the side

Edit 2: ...and also the very first and only line you posted...:lol2: Don't mind me, it's the Tylenol three...

yea thats ken gushi's new drifter, it does look bad i think they could have done a better job, like no spiler, blue wheels look like shit, everything else is kinda alright except that blue trim paint, i think it should just be white with the sponsors on side, keep it normal.

Meh, looks built for a purpose, although I fail to see how a wing indicates it's a drift car.

Fuck drifting in leather seats though.

Heep
11-13-2004, 08:22 PM
What's wrong with leather? I happen to like it :)

The wing indicates to me it's a drift car, since I've only ever seen drift cars use that style of wing. Now, why a car going sideways, purposely losing rear traction should have a wing on it,

Just for show I spose. Our NZ ghetto boys don't bpther with wings :D

Leather = sliiiiide

Heep

Not with bolsters and harnesses :) If you NZ boys didn't drift around in luxury sedans then you wouldn't have to worry ;) :p

Actually, I'd love to see someone get an Aristo sideways.

OMG, that Mustang got run over by a very narrow flourescent truck!

Still an ugly little bugger though.

Toksin

They're just flourescent stickers lit up by the camera flash.

hmm... luxury car drifting.... I got my lexus sideways! That was rather interesting; I didn't exactly do it on purpose. Luckily I was able to recover it quite well.

that poor poor mustang :screwy: :loser:

I would've given it a much better home and not abused it like that :disappoin

it would be ricey if it was some 16 year old punk was driving it on the street but since it's going to be a drift car,the sponsors (toyo)could put ugly stickers on to get you to notice it if they wanted to :2cents:

I had my FWD Buick Park Avenue sideways,

but it was icy

and in a parking lot

They made the Mustang look ricey because thats probably what the majority of people who watch drifting events thinks looks good. Why would they make it look sleek and retro if their trying to sell mustangs to kids who normally drive 240s?

People actually DO drift lexus'. Just not your car. They drift Soarers (SC300/400's)

:sly:
EXCUSE ME?

Drifters and 240 buyers are do not equal ricers. They made that car look like that because it gets attention, sure it's tasteless, but it's got nothing to do with the drift scene or anything, they people who designed the signwriting just wanted something different, or they're morons.

DRIFTERS ARE NOT RICERS. THEY DO NOT LIKE RICE.

Anyway, it's just advertising for fucks sake. How the car and driver drift on the track will decide whether it's a hot car or not.

Signal: Damn right. My workmate has a Soarer with the 1JZ (2.5L straight six). Was twin turbo, but he made his own manifold and whacked a hybrid turbo together and converted it to single spinner. This car is pharking hot, expect pics in 2 weeks at D1NZ round 6.

That's what I expected to see from a D1 car. They all have that same look; outrageous.

please do not talk about things that you have no idea about.

i don't necessarily think that the car is ricey, or too terrible looking. the decals are crap, the blue wheels are ugly, and the leather is dumb. but that car puts out ALOT of power and will actually be drifted. Ken Gushi is a very good drifter.

the only reason i don't like this car is because Gushi sold out. Toyo and Ford are paying him to drive this car in the SCCA Formula: Drift season next year. Gushi was raised driving SR20-powered S13's and it is just a kick in the balls for him to sell out in the first place, let alone to Ford. you personally could not offer me enough money to sell out like that (unless it was actually a good company who was offering, like Nissan with a 350Z or G35 coupe for me to drive).

"Drifters" are a sensitive bunch. I used to like the scene until all the little punks starting going ape over it.

I would like to try my hand at drifting.

A) It takes a good amount of skill
B) Generally no rice
C) Would like to get American cars more involved in this type of auto sport.

No fun seeing something get lapped up by trolls :(

*edit* thats in regards to Heep's comment.

I'd like to see some American tanks get sideways with control ;) Haven't seen any D1USA footage yet.

Yeah I've got a couple friends that actually participate in drifting (unlike most so-called drifters who just oversteer into their driveway once in a while), and both of them are considering quitting - it just got too popular and the scene is being turned into the next Fast & Furious. :(

I remember liking it back in 97...those were the days...

i have to admit i am madly in love with the new mustangs, but im not a fan of tacky things, the tire tread, the blue wheels, the wal-mart wing. It is an american car so its not "ricey"...as someone on this forum said before, its "white rice"

It's not a wal-mart wing, it's very similar to the 3-D wing designs used by Top Secret and Cusco, among others....

Full carbon fibre, they work. Just pointless on a drift car except for show.

Heep: Check out NZ drifting, you'll like it :)

I always joke around about the big wings calling them wal-mart wings because wal-mart sells them, and they seem to usually have a hard time keeping them in stock

Walmart sells them? ick, I thought they were bad enough to begin with. But jeez that just cheapened them even more.

What I mean is that the Mustangs glory day wasn't in the 60's, it was simply a rebodied Ford Falcon, which was a budget family car.

The new one IS the glory day.
