I went to Hobby Lobby today looking for scrapbook letters to use for the "COBRA" lettering on the back bumper of my '04 Cobra. I told myself, "Self, we are not going down the model kit aisle. We have too many kits talking to us already." I went straight to the back of the store and started browsing in the bead aisle (you never know what you'll find) and Will says, "Well I'm going to check out the models." I'm doing good, stop to browse through the Johnny Lightning cars at the end of the aisle, then Will says, "Hey, come check this out." Busted. I walk down the model aisle, trying not to look at all those kits, the '67 Chevelle, Smokey and the Bandit, '68 Shelby, all saying, "Pick me! Build me!" I look at the kit he's looking at (the Chevelle) and see the $14 price tag and I am amazingly able to walk away. I glance over the paints, no yellows I can see on my Cobra, so I round the corner and....I'm had. The clearance rack.
I walked out of the store with three AMT C5 Corvettes: a 96 Grand Sport, a 95 ZR1, and a 94 Convertible. No letters for the Cobra.
BUT I ONLY PAID $3.73 EACH!!!!
I'm officially a collector now. 24 kits unstarted, 5 in progress. I need help!

The worst is when you decide you have too many, and decide to sell some. You bust into your closet and start trying to chose the ones you're willing to part with. You seriously consider each of your kits, you make some hard choices, and you feel like you're really making some progress. When you're done, you turn around and the "sell" pile consists of a grand total of... 0 kits.

I have 150 unstarted kits plus about 3 or 4 I am working on now. I travel a bit for my work and I for some unknown reason can't drive past local toy stores in small towns. They suck me in everytime. Last time though I picked up a rare Hasegawa 1/24 Honda RA272 F1 car for $20 Australian.

This is Will:
It was just wishful thinking on her part that they were C5's, she's been looking for the convertible C5 for a long time to build a 50th anniv model.
