Exhaust size?.....

Im redoing my exhaust from the stock cat. back and i cant decide on wether to do 2 1/4" or 2 1/2"....any suggestions. i have a bomz muffler and everything is stock as far as exhaust goes.

Its a 2.2 with only intake. If i use flex pipe will i still pass emissions?

dont go with flex pipe, you want a nice smooth flow, not a pipe ith ripples all over. and Id go with 2 1/2

my buddy's dad owns a muffler shop and he told me that even on my 1.8 liter 2.5 would be fine, a little on the big side but wouldnt affect teh power noticably at all at the botom end. seems like a 2.2 would be a sufficient jump in displacement to justify the 2.5"

alright, im voted out, Im gonna have to go talk to him some more, see if he has any info to back his claim.
