Audi 2.8 parts?

My friends dad just got a 1996 Audi 2.8 quattro. He likes the car but wants some more power. I have been looking for parts for this motor but they are hard to find. Does anyone know where I can get a proformance chip for a 2.8 or any other mods for that matter for this engine? I posted this in the Audi forum but its pretty dead over there.
